Kelkar and Associates, Inc.
Kelkar and Associates, Inc. was formed in 1993 to provide special services to clients in the area of optimization of reservoir performance by identifying remaining hydrocarbons in reservoirs and maximizing the individual well productivity. The techniques employed involve integrating various types of geological, geophysical and engineering data to develop alternate reservoir descriptions, and through reservoir simulation or other means, identify potential new well locations or suggest ways to improve current operations.
	Dr. Mohan Kelkar, president of the company, has been involved in various field projects that have resulted in an increase in oil production from mature oil fields. As a professor of Petroleum Engineering at The University of Tulsa, he is investigating various techniques to integrate production, geological and geophysical data to improve understanding of mature reservoirs. Various oil companies and government agencies fund these projects. He has successfully translated research done at the university in practical field applications. These applications have shown that mature fields can be cost effectively exploited for additional hydrocarbon production.
